intercomparisons:a3_aerosol_spherical
Case A 3: Aerosol - spherical particles
Setup:
- typical water soluble aerosol for 50% relative humidity at 500 nm from OPAC database
- aerosol optical thickness: 0.2
$ P = \begin{pmatrix} P1 & P2 & 0 & 0 \\ P2 & P1 & 0 & 0 \\ 0 & 0 & P3 & P4 \\ 0 & 0 & -P4 & P3 \end{pmatrix} $
The corresponding Legendre polynomials (“pmom”) and the single scattering albedo (“ssa”) are also included in the file.
The expansion moments over generalized spherical functions for the phase matrix have been provided by S. Korkin and are available here.
- no molecules
- surface albedo: 0
- transmittance at bottom and reflectance at top of layer
- solar zenith angle sza: 40°
- solar azimuth angle saa: 0°
- viewing zenith angles
- at bottom: vza: 0° - 80°, 5° increment
- at top: vza: 100° - 180°, 5° increment
- viewing azimuth angle vaa: 0° - 180°, 5° increment
Output format:
- The output should be provided in the same format as for case A1 (Rayleigh scattering).
